Information About Kreher Family Farms
Who We Are
Kreher Family Farms began with the purchase of an 18-acre plot in Amherst, NY in May 1924 by Henry J Kreher and his wife, Wilhelmina. One hundred years later, this diversified, Western NY based family operation, has grown to include over 5,000 acres of farmland, three thriving egg farms, a rapidly growing compost and fertilizer business, and a grain crop and vegetable enterprise.

What We Do
Today, the third and fourth generations of the Kreher family work closely along with their employees, to help provide families throughout the region with fresh and nutritious food. The Kreher family is also very active within their community and within their industry. Family members serve and have served on multiple boards and councils including Farm Bureau, Farm Credit East, American Egg Board, United Egg producers, and Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
With regards to the business, in addition to providing their customers with fresh eggs under several private brands, Kreher’s is also one of the first Eggland’s Best® franchise owners, producing and distributing the #1 national brand of shell eggs throughout Western and Central New York. Also, the family partners with several smaller family farms within the Finger Lakes region to help produce free-range and pasture raised egg offerings for their customers as well. The Kreher crop farms, over the years, have expanded to be one of the largest regenerative crop farms on the east coast. The compost & fertilizer business now includes two fertilizer mills which produce fertilizers from compost, and it is used not only on Kreher’s farmland but is also marketed to farms and nursery retailers throughout the Northeast.
